Aussies will know John Safran if only because of his court case recently for pitch invasion at the cricket.A little while ago, John filmed a story for a channel 7 programme. The story wasn't used, but was shown tonight on "O'Loghlan".
The story was this: John decided that since McDonalds had sent spies to London Greenpeace, he would see how easy it would be to send a "spy" to McDonalds. Dressing as Ronald McDonald, he arrived at a McDonalds in Sydney 10 minutes before the "real" Ronnie was supposed to arrive. He was refused entry, but got into the outside area over the fence and entertained the kids for a while (eg, grabbing his stomache he groaned "I shouldn't have had those Chicken McNuggets!" then pulled a green scarf from his mouth).
As he was leaving (in his car) he was surrounded by McDonalds employees and put under citizens arrest.
Arrest for what, I wonder?
