closer to being a libertarian

You can register as an independent, libertarian, green, peace and freedom, reform, and a number of others. Hell, you can register as a communist if you want.

I myself am closer to being a libertarian than anything else, but I am registered republican to vote for that party's libertarian wing in primaries.

Many of your opinions seem to be libertarian in nature. However, the libertarian party is traditionally pro-choice regarding abortions. However, a large number of libertarians are not pro-choice, although I think they all agree this is not an issue the federal government should have any say in.
