Samuel, my dear chap,: SDF: Robert, this is completely unsubstantiated. You haven't even told us what evidence makes you believe this to be so. Early in human history, the world didn't have nation-states. Was it ruled by a global dictator? No. Furthermore, today, there are a plethora of unions (WTO, NATO, UN, European Union) that supercede the nation-states joining them. Are they ruled by global dictators? No. So what makes you think that nation-states or a global dictator are the only two possible alternatives, since this assertion of yours is clearly contradicted by world history?
On your first point (ie. early in human history) of course there was no global dictator. There were local dictators (ie. Pharoahs, tribal chiefs, etc.) who made it rather unpleasant on the commons living under there span of control. That could always be overcomed by moving away or having a rival power come in and give the local dictator a good thump on the head. Moreover, the local dictator could only reign as far as his communications spread. Obviously without global communications he had limited control. So the analogy with early history here is not relevent and hence a bad one at that.
On your second point (ie. unions and other organisation that transgress borders), it is fair to say that nothing helps a dictator more than organising people. Regardless of the cause, it simply makes it easier (more deterministic if you will) to deal with. If these organisations are set on demolishing borders, then they will indeed deserve to be led by the earthly king one day. In the order of monarch, nobels, and commons perhaps these union and world organisation chiefs are more like nobles. The commoner merely follows. Again, this is not anarchy but conformist behaviour.
Perhaps I may share a better example of anticipation of the future with you:
"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." (Hebrews 12:2-3)
