How can peolpe be so insensitive?

People complain about the pain they are in and then demand a medicine that would have to be tested on animals before being approved. Yet as the test is taking place on the animal, the animal becomes in pain and the problem is made even bigger.
As humans, animals show inteligence by developing language, making and using tools, and anticipating and forseeing things to happen before they do. Yet we are more advanced in all of these areas. Animals are like humans except for the fact that they don't build up an ever progressing society. Our guidline for animal experimentation is that the animals have a lower level of intelligence. Yet it shouldn't be. Would we experiment on the mentally retarded? Or infants with little understanding? I think not. Why? Because they are their own selves, with their own personaltities and own being. Animals have these same factors. Yet some are powerless against us and are forced to be tortured.
Some people say it's OK because it's natural for the animal kingdom to stalk their prey and kill, why should we not? The answer is: because we have a higher level of thinking and understanding then animals, we know what's right from wrong and sinful circumstance. Animal testing is a sinful circumstance. There are numerous alternitives to animal testing that are more accurate, and not as time consuming.
Before I end, I want to leave you with something to think about. An extremely intelligent being arrives on our planet. Compared to them, we are as "dumb" as the animals. The new species came to us because a disease had been spreading throughout their society. No one had found a cure yet. They tare down our buildings, trample our houses, and construct a habitat which is more adaptable for them. They capture you and fiddle with your insides and begin to take data. They force you to experience excrutiating pain that seems irrelivant to what they are trying to accomplish. Do they consider releiving the pain you are in? No! Do you think they care? Of course not! Besides your just a human being, and you can't comprehend anything, you don't actually live, but merely exist. Compared to this supreme species your life is totally unperpousful. Yet to you it is purousful. Compared to us, animals' lifes are unperpousful. Yet to them it is purpousful.
