Washington Post vs ALF

In the May 4 edition of the Washington Post, the Health section ran a vicious hatchet job on the animal rights movement. They said that animal research was essential to saving lives and that it is now under unprecedented violent attack. Well, it is in dispute rather animal testing is "necessary" and , as the Post did admit, it iis felt by many that we have no more right to experiment on unwilling animals than on unwilling children.
The article, emphasizing Federal penalties for raids on animal torture facilities and trumpeting problems in placing liberated animals,seems designed to give the public a strong negative opinion about the animal rights movement.
Their strategy is simple:Make ALF look like shit, then link everyone else to ALF.
Personally, I think the article ran because people are stepping up attacks on the corporate pigs world wide for everything from torturing animals to ruining the earth to exploiting workers and ripping off customers. The rich are feeling the heat of "decontaminations" of geneticly tampered fields, of fur-farm liberations, of raids on labs where super-profitable drugs and cosmetics are developed, etc,etc,etc. By focusing on animal rights first, they can take on the entire progressive movement. ALF will be used to test their new stretegies for attacking the entire anti-corporate movement. Therefore, even if you think animals have NO rights, if you value your own rights to be more than a slave to Monsanto and Mcdonalds you should realize that these people are fighting your war. If ALF and ELF lose,living things will b pateneted and treated as machines, food will be controlled by contol of the seed stock(as by the Monsanto "terminator" gene, and control of food will yield control of people. Whats to keep them
from reengineering humans to eliminate,say, homosexuality or some other kind of social rebellion. Then, what would stop them from doing the same to get tolerance of longer working hours. THE HOUR OF BATTLE HAS COME-Y2K is a golden opportunity for us,and if we win we can stop these multinational bastards once and for all. If we lose, hello Brave New World. Step up to the plate, and support those who support you! We are ALL animals-like my Native forefathers knew by heart-and we are ALL under attack.
