1) Thinking of our vast reserves of young men as war fodder instead someone's son.

2) Being too open about its demonic nature.

3) Not realizing that some people were just fucking sick and tired of our government's bloated, imperialistic egomaniacism.

4) Letting the CIA turn the public on to LSD.

5) Way underestimating the tenacity, courage, commitment of the VC.

6) Assassinating Kenedy in broad daylight in oil-rich Texas then exposing themselves futher by covering it up with more threats and assassinations.
