Have you ever had an abortion Shaun? I have not, but I have spoken to several women who have, and although they are pro-choice, it was, for each of them, the most difficult choice they ever made. For you to say "They may think they are simply ending their pregnancy" is denying the complexity of the situation, and is denying any respect to the fact that these women (and most others) were not simply overjoyed by the fact that they could have an abortion. There are many complicated factors that they took into account before making that decision, and at times they felt terrible for what they had done. Have you ever been pregnant Shaun? I haven't, but I know many women who have been, and it has involved a great deal of complication in their lives. For some this complication was a possitive thing. For others it was a negative thing, and it was not something they could cope with at the time, let alone being able to become a mother, which is a full-time, permanent job. Your reductionist, overly simplistic analysis of the issue of abortion is quite frankly offensive and disrespectful. Take the time to listen to a few women who have experienced abortions, who have made that choice. Offer them unconditional emotional support and allow them to share their stories, if they are ready to. Once you've done that, you might have one fraction of the qualifications necessary to make the judgements you are making. Yet, something tells me, once you've done that, your judgements won't be the same.
