I made a post with a remark in jest about fighting then went on to appeal to the investigation of the reasons why the Catholics believe what they do as opposed to Dark Roots intolerant prejudicial remarks.
I appealed to respect.
My insulting of the protestant faith (heresy etc.) was merely to demonstrate to the other guy the league in which I considered his insult to be in.
I'd have thought this was all within the parameters of McSpotlight philosophy.

McSpotlight: This would all be fine, if everyone read it with the appropriate degree of irony and humour. This ain't the case. For all you know, Dark Truth could have been speaking in a satirical voice as well. It is unfortunately all too easy for such humour to tip over into real offensiveness and thus into holy war, which is why I'm trying to lay down the line here; you can't be certain people won't read real offence into your jokes.
Sorry if this seems to be harsh and arbitrary, but I don't want this DR to erupt into a full-blown religious flamewar and have made my position clear in order to head this off early.
