: DADDIO: There have been lists compiled containing thousands of biblical self-contradictions.(I tried to get Stuart to read one once - no go).
I saw one of those lists a looong time ago, and those lists were compiled by people who didn't really read each verse in its entirety. I have also seen lists written by Christians who have studied the Bible that explain each one of those "contradictions" I wish I remember where I saw that. I'm sure I can search the net for it one day when I feel like it.
: One of my favorites, just off the top of my head, is where Jesus refers to the Old Testament as "useless" (at least that's how its translated in MY bible). And yet Jehova told his people that it was an "everlasting covenant" that would stand "forever". What a liar.
I can not ever recall reading that verse, probably because Jesus never said that. You are probably refering to when Jesus told them you can not be saved by merely obeying old testament law

: McSpotlight: Daddio; see my response to your other post; things are a little sensitive about religion around here right now...
No, McSpotlight I don't think Daddio is offending anyone. If Daddio and other people like him don't show the world thier disbelief God then how would we know to share the gospel with them? Anyway, Daddio, why are you so dead sure that what the Bible says is false? I assume you believe that the civil war actually happened, correct? If you can believe what your history textbook said, what makes the bible so different? We know that the facts that are stated in history books are for the most part true. Why? Because for one, back in the days when history was happening, people recorded it fairly accurate, and two, to this day we come across evidence that supports what was written down in the first place.
Now, how can we know that what the bible says is true? For one, back in the bible days, people who were alive at the time recorded what was happening, and two, even to this day, archaeologists and scientists find evidence that supports this. The difference between a history book and the bible is that a history book was written entirely by man, so it may not be perfectly accurate. The Bible, however was inspired by God. The bible is how God speaks to us today. He put his words into the pens of people like David and Paul, two of the bibles authors. It is impossible for the bible to be wrong or contradictory because God, after all, wrote it through David, Paul, John and the rest. Even the four gospels wrote down thier account of Jesus' life from birth to death to ressurection and even though all four of the gospels were written by four different men, none of the four contradict each other, in fact they prove each other to be right, because they all tell the same story. Your a nice guy, Daddio. I hope one day you find the peace and joy that is only found in Jesus in your life.
