Day 250 - 15 May 96 - Page 39

  Q. Right.
       A. But the picture was more or less the same, that there
were people on the pavement outside the office still
handing out leaflets. There were people down at the
underground, and there were people across the road on the
other side of the High Street.

  Q. Do you remember which leaflets they were handing out?
       A. I took it to be, because of the size of the leaflets,
the leaflet complained of, and I had no reason to believe
it was anything else other than that.

  Q. When you say 'the size of the leaflet' you mean the leaflet
itself or the size of the graphic, or what?
       A. No, no, the size of the leaflet itself, the size of the
       leaflet in their hands.

  Q. You were out on the balcony for about a minute?
       A. Yes, perhaps a bit longer than a minute but not a lot
       longer; 3 minutes maybe.

  Q. How far were you away from the people who were distributing
       leaflets?
       A. About the length of this courtroom. That is, from the
people who were outside the office. Of course, I was much
further away from the person in the underground station or
       across the road.

  Q. Yes. Then you went back to your office?
       A. Yes.

  Q. How long were you up there for?
       A. About 15 minutes, I suppose. Maybe 20.

  Q. Then where did you go from there?
       A. I came back down, this time moving through the car park
so I was on the exit drive of both the Company car park and
       the public car park.

  Q. What did you see then?
       A. Right. I came down for two reasons, one was to see
Gravett, because I had not see him, and the other was it
get a copy of the leaflet. When I came down the cow had
parted company, and Paul Gravett, whom I recognised from
the descriptions I had been given, the photograph I had
seen, was standing on the pavement south of the exit from
the car park. He was talking to somebody.

  Q. Was he completely out of the cow suit?
       A. No, no, he had the top half of the cow suit around his
       chest, middle and legs.

  Q. How did you know when you came down he would be out of the
       cow suit?
       A. I did not.

  Q. But you went down there to see him?
       A. That is right, yes, I wanted to see Paul Gravett.

  Q. Was Mr. Gravett doing anything?
