Day 160 - 21 Jul 95 - Page 10
MR. JUSTICE RAMPTON: -- because I think probably it gets so
hot in here and it gets very wearing if we do without
them. I find they are an improvement. If anyone feels
they are such a distraction they cannot operate with them,
then say so. It seems to me it is best to have the fans.
If you do not catch something, just say and we can have it
repeated off CaseView or from the witness box.

MS. STEEL: Right. (To the witness): Then, what, is the
lunch-time rush about 12.00 till 2.00, or something like
that?
A. Yes. May I say when the children are on holiday we do
get more busy, quite -- nearly all day and we are busy all
day then.

Q. Right. Has the store got an Accident Book?
A. Yes.

Q. Have you ever entered any accidents in the Accident Book?
A. No.

Q. Never?
A. Never me, no, it is all always the Manager or the First
or Second Assistant.

Q. So if someone has an accident they report to them and they
write it down?
A. Yes.

Q. So you have never seen the Accident Book?
A. Oh, yes, I have seen it, yes.

Q. Have you seen the contents of it?
A. I have not looked fully through it, no.

Q. When was the last time you saw the Accident Book?
A. A few weeks ago; it was on the Manager's desk.

Q. When was the last time you looked inside it?
A. Quite a while ago, I would say.

Q. Do you know how far back it goes?
A. Well, I think, you know, they are all new every year.

Q. You get a new one every year?
A. Well, I am not certain of that, but I know this one was
quite a new one.

Q. You do not know when it was changed?
A. No, no.

Q. Do you think your standard of work has remained constant
throughout the 20 years you have been working for
McDonald's?
A. Oh, yes.

Q. Do you think you have had a consistently high standard?
A. Oh, yes, I would say so, yes.

Q. What, better than average?
