On every occasion we did, because their wages were enhanced
after 21 days, could be further enhanced fourth months
later, further enhanced again four months later, so
inevitably we paid over.

MS. STEEL: They are not automatically enhanced, are they?
A. Sorry?

Q. The wages are not automatically enhanced after 21 days, are
they?
A. No.

Q. People have to get over 80 per cent, I think it is?
A. Yes, that is most people.

Q. Of course, a lot of people do not stay for very much longer

A. Oh, yes, they stop a lot longer than three weeks.

Q. There are a lot of crew that do not stay for more than five

Q. So you do not really know?

Q. Yes. I think for Outer London you were paying £2.06
between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., £2.32 between 7 p.m. and
11.00 p.m. and £2.58 between 11.00 and 7 p.m.?
A. I have not got the figures in front of me but ......

Q. They are on page 732, I think,, if you want to compare
them. The figures on the following page are for outside
London.
A. That is provincial pay, yes.

Q. Again if you compare them with the figures on page 672,
