     2        She disclosed it, I think, in this context, that she was
     3        intending to ask Dr. Pattison some questions in
     4        cross-examination about that.  That being so, not having
     5        seen it, we sent a copy down to Dr. Pattison who has now
     6        looked at it.  He can comment on it without re-showing it
     7        again, but your Lordship has not seen it, so it would not
     8        make much sense.  It is very short; about 10 minutes or
     9        quarter of an hour.

    12        ask Dr. Pattison some questions about it.  I would also
    13        like to ask him some questions about what Ms. Steel noted
    14        as being Mr. John Bruton's allegations.  I shall also ask
    15        Dr. Pattison some questions about Mr. Bruton himself.

    22   Q.   Dr. Pattison, you do not need to be resworn.  Your oath
    23        that you took carries over.  Did you look at that last
    24        week?
    25        A.  Yes, over the weekend.

    27   Q.   Over the weekend.  You saw there some film of a gang of
    28        catchers, blue overalls and when they took off the top part
    29        of the overall they had the words "catch 22" written on
    30        their t-shirts.  There was also a man in green wellies and
    31        a white overall with an illegible logo on it.  Are those or
    32        are they not Sun Valley chickens that were being shown in
    33        that part of that film?
    34        A.  I do not know.  I do not recognise the individuals or
    35        the logos on the t-shirts.  The catching system being used
    36        was the same.

    38   Q.   That is the Anglia air flow system?
    39        A.  The Anglia Auto Flow, yes.  But I cannot say whether it
    40        was at Sun Valley or not.

    42   Q.   One saw in that film the catchers before they started to
    43        pick the birds up kicking a number of the birds, yes?
    44        A.  Yes.

    46   Q.   Does that happen at Sun Valley?
    47        A.  Well, the procedures for catching are quite clearly
    48        laid down and the catchers are trained in how to do the
    49        job.  If they do that or if they are caught doing anything
    50        which is mistreating a bird, the quite clear instruction is 
    51        that the foreman has to bring them back to Head Office for 
    52        disciplinary proceedings.

    54   Q.   One saw those people, some of them at least, one might
    55        think, somewhat roughly hurling the birds into the yellow
    56        plastic crates, then slamming the drawers shut, sometimes
    57        with the birds' or several birds' heads sticking out; is
    58        that a typical Sun Valley procedure or not?
    59        A.  Again, the procedure, the correct procedure, is quite
    60        clearly laid down that the birds must be handled in a way
