Q. He says that diet is a key factor in the development of
those diseases. So he is probably referring to diet
related cancers?
A. I cannot answer that.

Q. If we turn over the page -- sorry, on page 4 (it might be
page 5), it is half the size, it has -- sorry, I am on the
wrong page. We are on page 6,7; half size 6,7. Is that
correct? At the top of the third -- the bottom of the
second column, top of the third column, includes also a
reference to the World Health Organisation and their Diet,
Nutrition and the Prevention of Chronic Diseases.
Mr. Wheelock, or Professor Wheelock, concludes that
(I quote at the top of the third section, third column):
"The [World Health Organisation] concluded that there is
a close and consistent relationship between the type of
diet now common in most of the developed industrialized
countries - characterized by an excess of energy-dense
foods rich in fat and free sugar but low in dietary fibre
- and the emergence of a range of chronic non-infectious
diseases. These include diseases of the heart and
arteries, various cancers, diabetes mellitus, gallstones,
dental caries, gastrointestinal disorders, and various
bone and joint diseases."

Just referring to the cancers, Professor Wheelock has
concluded that the World Health Organisation has concluded
there is a closer consistent relationship between a diet
of X and various diseases, including cancer. Now, is
Mr. Wheelock wrong to conclude that is what ---?
A. No. He is quoting the article. That is all he is
quoting.

Q. Right. So, all I am saying is, if the World Health
Organisation, which is a highly well respected body,
produces a report and expert nutritionists conclude
something that is pretty strong like that -- do you see
what I am saying?
A. Yes. But I am trying to say also that what -- you
see, the purpose of the World Health Organisation article
was to provide recommendations that would help to prevent
chronic diseases that were related to the newly emerging
dietary changes in developing countries and to help in
reducing the impact of these diseases in developed
countries. In other words, they are trying to give
general advice to people who have no medical knowledge,
just to be sensible in their diets.

Q. Yes.
A. Because there is some evidence that dietary factors
may be related to certain illnesses, such as
cardiovascular disease and possibly cancer.

Q. Yes. He has concluded that they are saying there is a
close and consistent relationship, not "may be", that
there is.
A. In fact, we have actually already pointed that out.
If you look at the distribution of cancers around the
world and their apparent fat consumption as looked at food
