Say No To McDonald’s

McDonald’s has applied for planning permission for a drive-through restaurant at the NoMac roundabout.

Public pressure is the only way to stop this unwanted development and all the TRAFFIC, LITTER, NOISE and SMELLS that it will bring to our quiet residential area.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Write to the planning office, objecting to the development – the address is: [planning office address]. Quote the following application reference numbers on your letters:- 123/456/XYZ and 123/457/XYZ. See overleaf for an example objection letter.

Write to your local ward councillors to let them know that you don’t want a McDonald’s at NoMac. The town hall [telephone number and address] can tell you who your local councillors are and where to write to them.

Join the lobby at the planning committee meeting.

 Planning Applications 123/456/XZY and 123/457/XYZ.

I am writing to object to the above applications because they will have a detrimental impact on the local neighbourhood with no benefit to local residents whatsoever.

A McDonald’s restaurant [or drive-through] will generate increased traffic in the area, resulting in more road congestion. The proposed layout represents a road safety hazard to pedestrians, with vehicles continuously crossing the roads to enter and leave the restaurant.

It is also bound to result in increased litter in the area which will cause problems for local residents.

Overall the proposed development is a design wholly for the convenience of private cars visiting a fast-food restaurant, to the detriment of local residents and pedestrians. The disadvantages of this proposal outweigh the benefits to local residents.

Yours faithfully
