What's it like working for McDonald's
A Europe wide campaign to win McDonald's workers the right to
be in trade union.
Conditons will only change when unions are recognised and allowed to work
freely.
Throughout Europe people are campaigning for a better deal for McDonald's
employees.
* McWages are from £2.25 per hour, with no overtime rates
- not even for working after midnight.
* McHours are decided from week to week to suit sales not workers.
When business slows the number of workers is reduced.
*McUnions are not allowed. McDonald's can suspend workers without
pay. Workers in McDonald's should be able to be represented by their union.
This is a basic human right.
Of course McDonald's is not the only employer to pay bad wages but is ine
of the worst. Campaigns like this have won better conditions in other countries
such as Denmark.
With "1992" coming workers are working together across Europe
to get a better deal. It's only when people stand up for each other in their
union that they can have a say in what happens at work. McDonald's workers
have no say.
BUYING FOOD HERE SUPPORTS POOR WAGES AND CONDITIONS AND ALLOWS
THE CONTIUED EXPLOITATION OF YOUNG WORKERS.
